The APT Travel Group marks its strongest sales day in 2026

Record breaking day signals renewed consumer confidence ahead of centenary year

22 June, 2026

The APT Travel Group, one of Australia's most iconic luxury travel companies, is reporting its best sales day of 2026 and fifth best on record, a clear sign that Australian consumers are ready to explore the world again.

The result reflects a surge in traveller confidence that The APT Travel Group has seen building across its portfolio of brands, including APT, Travelmarvel, Botanica, Captain's Choice and Antarctica Flights.

The APT Travel Group CEO David Cox said the numbers reflected something the business had long known that Australians have an enduring passion for travel.

"Australians have continued to book travel throughout this year, but the past week has shown just how quickly momentum can build when confidence lifts," Mr Cox said. "We recorded our best sales day of 2026 and importantly, this is not incremental growth."

"The demand has always been there. What we are seeing now is our guests' confidence catching up with their intent to travel. Recent global developments, including the ceasefire, have provided that extra certainty many people were waiting for, prompting those who had been considering a trip to move ahead and book.

"It is incredibly encouraging to see, and we are thrilled to be welcoming both new and returning guests as more Australians feel ready to explore the world again and experience everything travel has to offer."

Cox welcomed the Australian Government's recent decision to lower its travel advice for UAE and Qatar transit hubs, key gateways for Australian travellers to Europe, the UK, Africa and beyond.

"This change removes unnecessary friction for Australian travellers and gives more Australians the confidence to get out and see the world," he said. "We support the decision and look forward to seeing more guests moving through these key global hubs."

The strong result comes at a particularly meaningful moment for The APT Travel Group, which is approaching its centenary in 2027. Nearly 100 years since the company's founding, the business is experiencing some of its strongest demand on record a testament to the enduring appeal of luxury travel and the trust Australians place in homegrown expertise.

"Almost a century of travel and this shows the appetite has never been greater. With a focus on innovation, growth and giving our guests incredible experiences, this result shows we are on the right path," he added.Â
